Camp Clarita Staff

Camp Clarita Staff are the role models for our campers. We have summer employment opportunities for those entering grade 11 to those already in college and beyond. Camp Clarita also has a great volunteer program (Counselors in Training) for teens entering 10th grade. If you’re interested in becoming the best of the best then this is the place for you.

Ages: Grade 11 and beyond (as of Fall 2008)
Locations:

As a member of the Camp Clarita Staff, we are a team, therefore you may be placed at any one of the following Camp Clarita locations based on the needs of our program:

Dates:

Staff Training: June 9 - 13, 2008*
Camp Dates : June 16 - August 8, 2008
*Additional training dates TBA for Camp Leadership
Must be available for all dates listed above to be eligible for a position.

Time:

7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. *
Up to 32 hours/week for Camp Counselor and Recreation Leader I positions
Up to 40 hours/week for Recreation Leader II and Recreation Leader III positions
*Actual shifts will vary depending on the needs of camp program.

Salary:

Camp Counselor- $8.59/hour
Recreation Leader I- $10.78/hour
Recreation Leader II- $12.82/hour
Recreation Leader III- $15.20/hour

Description:

Recreation Leader II (Assistant Director)- Assists in supervising camp staff and assists in site administration, acts as site director in their absence. To apply for this position online, click here (new window).

Recreation Leader III (Director)- Supervises over a day camp site including staff supervision, site administration, parent communication, etc. To apply for this position online, click here (new window).

Clerical Staff - Provides administrative support in camp office. Duties include answering phones, providing customer service and general clerical responsibilities. To apply for this position online, click here (new window)

Requirements:

Camp Counselor - Prior experience working or volunteering with children. Must be entering Grade 11 by September 2008.

Recreation Leader I- Prior experience working with children in a day camp or afterschool setting Must be entering grade 12 by September 2008.

Recreation Leader II (Assistant Director)- At least two years experience working with children in a day camp setting preferably in a leadership capacity. Must have graduated high school by June 2008.

Recreation Leader III (Director)- At least three years experience working with children in a day camp setting, one year of which must be in a camp leadership capacity. Supervision experience preferred.

Clerical Staff - One year general office experience performing clerical and / or recptionist duties.

 

Counselors in Training (Grade 10)

The Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) program is an excellent way for a teen to gain volunteer experience working with the youth of Santa Clarita. If you’re interested in volunteering up to 20 hours a week working with youth in a day camp setting, this is the program for you!

This is a volunteer position. Benefits include:
