Camp Clarita Staff are the role models for our campers. We have summer employment opportunities for those entering grade 11 to those already in college and beyond. Camp Clarita also has a great volunteer program (Counselors in Training) for teens entering 10th grade. If you’re interested in becoming the best of the best, then this is the place for you.

- June 7-10, 2010 - Staff Training, Monday - Thursday from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. This is mandatory for all Camp Clarita Staff.

The Counselor in Training (C.I.T.) program is an excellent way for a teen to gain volunteer experience working with the youth of Santa Clarita. If you’re interested in volunteering up to 20 hours a week working with youth in a day camp setting, this is the program for you!
Age: Grade 10 (as of fall 2010)

Dates:
- Staff Training: June 7-10, 2010
- Camp Dates: June 14-August 6, 2010

Salary: This is a volunteer position.
Benefits include:
- Assisting on weekly field trips as needed.
- Learning what it takes to apply for a paid staff position the following summer.
- Utilizing volunteer hours for school requirements.

- Swimming on a daily basis with campers.
- Availability from 7 a.m. - 6 p.m.; actual shift will vary depending on the needs of the camp program.
Education and Experience:
- Must be at least a junior in high school or above by September 2010.
- Prior experience working or volunteering with children.
Knowledge and Abilities :
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and enthusiastic.
- Excellent customer service.
- Excellent communication and follow-up skills.
- Positive attitude in working with youth.
- Ability to work effectively, compassionately, and creatively with youth, adults, and staff.

Education and Experience:
- High School Graduate/GED equivalent by June 2010.
- Two or more years prior work experience with children in a day camp setting, preferably in a leadership capacity.
